We will not collect or use personal information for purposes other than those described in this Privacy Policy unless we have obtained your prior consent or as otherwise required or authorized by law.
For example, when you use the Website, you will be given the option of:
- receiving recurring informational newsletters via email from us
- receiving offers of products, services and events; and
- participating in contests and other promotions.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
We use “cookies” to identify you when you visit the Website. A “cookie” is a piece of data temporarily stored on the user’s hard drive containing non-personal information about the user. We may use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the user’s hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies can be removed by following Internet browser help file directions.
We use cookies to help users navigate around the Website. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, the Website may not function properly if your cookies are disabled. Find out more about the use of cookies on https://wiht.co/cookiesguide.
Some of our advertisers may also use cookies on our site. However, blogTO has no access to or control over these cookies, once we have given permission for them to set cookies for advertising.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Third Party Advertising
The ads appearing on this web site are delivered by different services including but not limited to Google.
Information about users’ visits to this site, such as number of times they have viewed an ad (but not name, date of birth, or any other personal information), is used to serve ads to users on this site. Find information about Google and cookies.
Log Files
Like most standard web sites, we maintain log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks.
This date may be used to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information. We may use a tracking utility that uses log files to analyze user movement.
